Best Halal restaurants in Manchester

At Express English College we know that a lot of international students who attend our school here in Manchester have special dietary requirements.
One of the most common dietary requirements our students have is the need for halal food.   You may be surprised to find many places in town serve up delicious halal food, not only veggies and meat substitutes.
Here it is our top 5 selection.

Zouk Bar & Grill

Situated on Chester Street, just 2 minutes from Oxford Road, Zouk is the perfect place for lovers of Indian food. All their dishes are either halal or vegetarian so there’s something for everyone to enjoy! Expect authentic flavours and food cooked mostly on a charcoal grill. Their seafood and naan bread are our favourites!

Asha’s

Asha’s is owned by Bollywood singer Asha Bhosle and is the ideal spot for special occasions. It has beautiful decor over its two floors and all the meat on the menu is halal. You’ll find it on Peter Street just round the corner from the Albert Hall.

Turkish Kitchen

Experience halal fine dining in Manchester! The Turkish Kitchen is a relaxed cafe-restaurant where you can get some authentic meze along with kebabs, burgers and Turkish pizza, in a simple setting. The place has a really nice atmosphere and diners can rest in the knowledge that everything on the menu is halal! You’ll find Turkish Kitchen on Great Ducie Street.

Fazenda

Head to Spinningfields for a halal meat feast at this Brazilian-style restaurant that focuses on attracting carnivores. If you wish to have halal meat, be warned that you must order 48 hours in advance and pay a small deposit, but it’s worth the small inconvenience to enjoy the authentic tastes of Brazil and to experience the impeccable service.

Ning

This beautifully decorated Malaysian restaurant located at the Burton Building, serves fresh food, which is halal and MSG-free with more than half of the available dishes vegetarian or vegan. Chef Norman Musa, is passionate about Malaysian food, bringing together flavours of Asian, European and Arabian cuisine.
Pick one or try them all. Once you have started you cannot stop! They are all delicious and there are prices for all budgets. You don’t need to make great efforts or spend a lot of money to have a good meal.
